Large-scale Moscow's Strikes Disrupt Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have faced increased attacks in recent weeks

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have resulted in electricity outages in extensive areas of Ukraine's capital, Kyiv.

A number of civilians were wounded while local people in the city's east were plunged into darkness and faced problems to water supplies, per reports from city officials.

Meanwhile, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Moscow has intensified attacks on electrical systems over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to increase pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but decisive action - from the US, the EU and the Group of Seven - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," was stated in a online statement.

Officials stated that 450 drones and over thirty projectiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "critical infrastructure" as the weather cools.

The energy minister said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and repair crews were laboring to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles hit electrical systems and apartment buildings in the capital.

Several of the people hurt in the assaults on the capital have been hospitalized, according to municipal representatives.

Area administrators said the urban area endured significant strikes overnight. A young boy lost their life and several individuals were injured.

The strikes succeed evenings of bombing campaigns in the territory, portions of which remain under the control of Russian forces.

All of Ukraine is on alert for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are tougher to spot.

Authorities told reporters that Russia was intentionally trying to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for additional strikes.
